Ongoing legacy projects and initiatives launched during the year will add to Charlotte's commitment to become a friendlier, healthier, more equitable and accessible city and to create opportunity for all. These community-building initiatives will create hope and promise for the next 250 years.
As people make history, it's only fitting to document the men and women who contributed to the growth and development of Charlotte as we celebrate our 250th anniversary. On the first floor of the Main Library, there's an exhibit of portraits of some of these people. The staff of the Robinson-Spangler Carolina Room selected images from its collections to recognize those who have gone before us to make the Queen City a wonderful place to live.
